Metering data key management system in SaaS operation in AWS
We have successfully transferred the Metering Data Key Management System (MeDa-KMS) belonging to Westenergie Metering to SaaS operation.
The software we have developed supports the secure storage of the keys for activating the digital customer interface of smart meters that are equipped with an integrated radio module (a so-called “MeDa counter”).
The SOPTIM – AWS partnership offers Westenergie Metering a cost-effective and efficient operating alternative. Even in SaaS operation over AWS, the system guarantees the high software security requirements that were taken as a fundamental during implementation, such as regular changes to encryption keys, two-factor authentication, the most stringent password guidelines, exclusively encrypted communication, automated source code checks and security-by-design.
