APERAK Replaces CONTRL – Changes to the MaBiS Process Starting 6 June 2025
The Federal Network Agency has introduced new requirements for electricity balancing group settlement (MaBiS): Starting 6 June 2025, EDIFACT messages exchanged as part of the 24-hour supplier switching process must be confirmed exclusively using the APERAK message. This replaces the previously used CONTRL message and adds a technical validation of the content.
Energy traders using our MaBiS module in SOPTIM ComCT will be affected by this change. To ensure continued compliance with market requirements in the German MaBiS settlement process, the upcoming ComCT release 4.7.0 will include automatic APERAK message generation. After updating, only a minor adjustment in the settings will be needed, and everything will continue to run as usual.
